We were in Phuket for 7 days.Flew Malaysian airlines, Dubai-Kuala Lampur-Phuket. Exhausting flight as there is 3 hours transit at KL. (Specially with a naught kid!)
Most of the tours in Phuket provide transportation to and from the hotel.Alternatively, you could book a car, very economical approx USD 20 per day inclusive of gas!
The food is fantabulous, atleast we loooved it. There are numerous hotels & restaurants in Phuket. We stayed at the Absolute Sea Pearl beach resort at Patong beach. There is no need to be choosy on a hotel as you are in only at night and always outside during the day.

The peak season in Phuket is between October & March, the prices are skyrocketting. Its better to be in other months, lucky if it doesn't rain.
Unfortunately, we were sick for 3 days :( so could only enjoy the first 4 days, but we enjoyed :)
We went for the following tours/shows around Phuket island. Its always better to book after you reach Phuket as online booking is expensive.
